FORMER Forest striker Stan Collymore is launching a funding drive to help provide an innovative service for people with depression.
Collymore, who has previously talked of his own struggle with depression, is working with Depression Alliance on the Friends In Need project.
It aims to link people with depression across the country to help overcome loneliness and isolation. The group is scheduled to launch next year.
Collymore is asking people to text to donate to the campaign.
He said: "I am excited to be launching this campaign. As someone who has experienced many dark and lonely times as a result of my own well-documented depression, a service like this will be literally a life-saver to the many thousands of people who battle with this terrible illness."
To donate £5 to fund the service text the word STAN to 70555. The funding campaign closes at midnight on December 16.
