Jonathan and Charlotte will no longer perform in the Royal British Legion Festival of Remembrance event at the Royal Albert Hall on Saturday, after Jonathan was diagnosed with acute depression.
A statement confirmed the news, stating: “The pair made this decision after Jonathan was diagnosed once more with acute depression. As a result, he has been advised by doctors to cancel all work commitments for at least one month.
"Jonathan's previous battles with depression have been well-documented. Jonathan, Charlotte and their families request the media allow them the appropriate privacy - and Jonathan the time and space to make a complete recovery - at this difficult time."
Jonathan’s mum and sister posted a message on his Facebook page, saying: “We want to thank you for your love and understanding.
“Jonathan is very sorry that he had to let so many people down for Remembrance day, and would never of wanted this to happen. He will continue to get well and we will pass on your messages - sending you all much love, his sister and Mum (Charlotte and Tracy Antoine) xxx”
On Twitter, they added: “While Jonathan is ill, we (Mum and sis) will pass on your tweets etc to J - thank you so much for the love and support for Jonathan :)”
Jonathan and Charlotte shot to fame on Britain’s Got Talent 2012.
They were runners-up to dancing dog act Ashleigh and Pudsey and went on to record two albums – Together and Perhaps Love.
Earlier this week, Jonathan tweeted: “Thank you to everyone that has managed to make Perhaps Love have it’s third week in the top 10 - please continue to spread the word and RT!”
